In the sleepy little town of Karuah we are blessed with several church communities one of them being Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Community which is part of the Bulahdelah Parish.
In the beginning and until 1988 we were a part of Raymond Terrace Parish and our little church was opened and blessed on 23rd April 1950 by Bishop Toohey
Prior to that, Mass was said in the home of Jack and Elsie O’Connor and their sons Hilton and Terry are still members of our congregation.
We feel that our little community is very special. Because of our size we are more like a family group, conscious of and attentive to each other’s needs. We work together well to support the outreach programs that have become important to us and we value the contribution made by all in our congregation.
Over the years we have witnessed many changes the greatest being the loss of our priest. Fortunately for us we have been blessed with a wonderful Parish Pastoral Coordinator Sr. Margaret Valentine R.S.C. who has guided and supported Bulahdelah Parish in these times of challenge and uncertainty. Thanks to her we are a parish united in our efforts to be a vital, active, worshipping community committed to our Parish Goals .
